Where Learning Lives...

A Bit About Us...

Richard Dawson

Richard is the driving force behind our classroom. With over 45 years teaching experience, 26 spent as a head teacher, he now enjoys his retirement…teaching. Richard’s career started in Reading before he moved to Lincolnshire to teach at Nunsthorpe Primary School before becoming Head at Elliston Primary School. He dedicated the majority of his career to Humberston CoE Primary School where he was head teacher for 23 years. Richard is a lover of the outdoors so the classroom in the woods offers him the opportunity to combine his passion for teaching with nature and the countryside.

Grace Robinson

Grace is the keeper of the diary, and general organiser for both the Classroom in the Woods and the farm. After studying for her degree in London, Grace moved back home to her rural roots in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds to assist in the day to day running of the family business. Ian Robinson, Grace’s Father, had the vision to share the family farm and it’s beautiful assets with local school children who may not otherwise have the chance to explore the countryside. This vision became a reality when Grace’s enthusiasm, teamed with Richard’s knowledge and passion drove the classroom to where it is today.
